Right Moves - Kate Matheson

Anchorage Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) recently welcomed Kate Matheson as its new development director. In her new role, Matheson is responsible for all AEDC revenue and event functions, as well as investor relations. She will work closely with AEDC‘s president and CEO, staff, and board members to develop strategies for annual fundraising including corporate memberships, sponsorships, and in-kind support, as well as planning and executing AEDC’s premier Economic Forecast and 3-Year Outlook luncheons.

“We’re thrilled to have Kate on board,” says AEDC President and CEO Bill Popp. “Her knowledge of the Alaska business landscape and experience working closely with local companies will be a valuable asset to our team, and to our investors.”

Matheson holds a bachelor’s in political science from Auburn University and comes to AEDC from United Way of Anchorage where she worked as the director of workplace giving and as a business relationship manager, collaborating with companies throughout Alaska to implement their corporate social responsibility plans.
