A new perk for Ravn Alaska’s mileage rewards program is now in effect, allowing travelers to purchase tickets on the regional airline using Alaska Airlines points.

Passenger’s Choice

The option is an extension of Ravn’s announcement last August that its loyalty program would give customers a choice of receiving either Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan points or a new cryptocurrency, FlyCoin.

“We know that Alaskans like to collect their mileage plan awards, and now there is a new option to utilize miles on Ravn Alaska” says Ravn Alaska CEO Rob McKinney.

Starting April 21, Ravn passengers gained the ability to pay for tickets using Alaska Airlines miles to any of the smaller carrier’s in-state destinations: Anchorage, Aniak, Cold Bay, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, King Salmon, Sand Point, St. Mary’s, St. Paul Island, Unalakleet, and Valdez.

“Alaskans want the ability to earn and use Alaska Airlines miles and having both available now throughout Ravn Alaska’s route network is a great benefit,” says Alaska Airlines Regional Vice President Marilyn Romano. “It also helps when planning a trip that includes flying on Ravn and Alaska Airlines.”

McKinney adds, “We’re thankful to Alaska Airlines for partnering with us for the benefit of Alaskans across the state. The ability to redeem these awards on flight purchases will extend family budgets and make travel even more accessible.”
