LifeMed Alaska Adds Another King Air 200 to Medevac Fleet
A new paint job for a Beechcraft King Air 200 combines the blue and white of LifeMed Alaska’s fixed-wing fleet with the orange of its helicopters.

LifeMed Alaska is expanding its operations with the acquisition of a new Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft. This newly acquired aircraft will serve as a dynamically deployable asset, allowing LifeMed Alaska to support regions experiencing increased population during the fishing season, tourism activities, or medical emergencies.

The company already operates five other twin-engine King Air 200s that are deployable to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Dutch Harbor, and Kodiak, depending on season.
The LifeMed Alaska fleet includes two Bell 407 GXP Helicopters based in Palmer and Soldotna; three Learjet 31s, three Learjet 35s, and two Learjet 45xrs at the Anchorage and Fairbanks international airports; and one Cessna 208 Grand Caravan stationed in Bethel. Each is fully equipped with the latest in medical transport technology.

The propeller-driven King Air 200s have the same capacity as the Learjets, capable of transporting two patients at a time. While the jets have longer range and can travel faster, they require runways at least 4,500 feet long, whereas the King Air 200 needs just 3,000 feet, allowing it to go places like Noatak, Point Hope, or Mountain Village.
The company calls the new addition to the fleet a strategic investment that reflects LifeMed Alaska’s ongoing commitment to delivering medevac services across the state.
