UMIAQ Design Promotes Architecture Manager
UMIAQ Design, part of the commercial services division of Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation, promoted Jessica Cederberg to the position of Architecture Manager. In this role she manages the architecture department while developing opportunities that add to the company’s forty-year track record of successful projects throughout Alaska.
Cederberg earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon, with minors in interior architecture and art history. She is a licensed architect in Alaska and Washington, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. She is president-elect of the Alaska chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
At UMIAQ Design, Cederberg’s projects have included industrial facilities in Utqiaġvik, Anaktuvuk Pass, and Cordova, along with work in Anchorage, Nuiqsut, and Point Lay.
“Since Jessica joined us in 2019, she has built a reputation as a thoughtful architect who listens to clients and works collaboratively,” says Wiley Wilhelm, UMIAQ Design general manager. “Her leadership skills and creative vision are well suited to directing the architectural functions of the company.”
Cederberg has served with the Municipality of Anchorage’s Public Art Committee, which implements the city’s 1% for Art initiative, since 2008. She also has been a member of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra board of directors since 2022.
