The 2025 South East Alaska Sea Kayak Symposium will take place over three days in Haines. This year’s symposium will be set up in half-day courses and will offer options for a wide variety of skill levels. During the day, the courses will be structured in the morning and afternoons with a mid-day break for lunch and a chance to get to the next course venue. Throughout the symposium, attendees will have options for courses on the water—and on land for those who would like a break or who might have an interest in course materials which can best be delivered off the water. In the evenings, attendees can choose from a number of social events, from meet-and-greets and catered dinners to a slide show and an event debrief with hors d’oeuvres. The symposium is designed to be educational and fun and also a place to meet other paddlers. A five-day American Canoe Association Sea Kayak Instructor Certification precedes the symposium. Following the symposium, attendees can take part in a women’s sea kayak trip with Amber Champion of Champion Adventures and Coaching that includes five days of sea kayaking through the northernmost leg of the Inside Passage. Pre- and post-symposium events are booked separately.
