The 2025 Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Supports Conference will be held January 25 and 26 at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage, with “The Culture of Belonging” as the theme. The conference aims to equip participants with the knowledge, strategies, and resources to effectively meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. Several national presenters will be on hand, as well as sessions with educators from across Alaska. There will be a January 18 preconference for rural and small schools, held virtually, where attendees can explore tools and strategies to address academic and behavioral challenges within the context of small or rural school communities. Carol Ann Tomlinson will speak in a presentation called “Three lenses for Growing Your Understanding of Differentiation,” in which she will explore three lenses that can extend, enrich, and enliven both how differentiation can be thought about and how it can be implemented: a differentiation state of mind, 3D differentiation; and “teaching up.” A pre-conference session will be held at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center Friday, January 24, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., during which attendees can sign up for one of four workshops to explore an issue in depth.
