A backyard flock is fun and a great way to improve Alaska food security. This class will enable a novice to start their first flock. Breed selection, incubation, nutrition, coop design, disease management, cold weather tips, and even chicken psychology will be covered.

Chicken University will be taught by Stephen Brown, an agriculture, horticulture, and natural resources agent with the UAF Cooperative Extension Service. This class will be offered in-person and via Zoom. Join Brown in person at Kerttula Hall at the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center or via Zoom. Please register online. In-person attendance is limited.
