Coffman Engineers promoted Eliot Jordan to Discipline Manager of the fire protection engineering team. In that position, he leads Coffman’s fire protection group and performs work on fire suppression and fire alarm and life safety code analysis projects for a variety of facilities.

With twenty-four years of professional engineering experience, including seventeen years in Alaska, Jordan has served as the qualified fire protection engineer for a range of projects, particularly in the oil and gas and federal sectors. He has also provided lead engineering for projects involving major equipment replacement and system reconfiguration.

Jordan earned a master’s degree in fire protection engineering from California Polytechnic State University. His mechanical engineering experience from designing commercial and institutional ventilations systems laid the foundation for his shift into fire protection. Jordan’s portfolio in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon spans education facilities, laboratory facilities, commercial buildings, parking garages, industrial facilities, restaurants, and federal buildings. He also has a strong background in sustainable design and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects and has designed new LEED New Construction Platinum and Gold certified projects as well as a LEED Commercial Interiors Platinum certified project.

Coffman General Manager Tom Looney says, “Eliot has an extremely diverse resume of projects spanning Alaska’s vast geography and industries. He has developed into an excellent leader and mentor for our Anchorage office and fire protection team.”
