Ohana Media Group promoted Cat Okegawa to Local Sales Manager for the Anchorage/Wasilla Cluster of radio stations.

Okegawa returned to Ohana Media Group in March 2024 as an Account Executive after dabbling in other sales roles. She was with the stations’ previous owner, New Northwest Broadcasters, from 2007 through 2010 in sales, and in a management role she oversees daily sales operations to achieve business goals and maximize profitability of the stations.

Ohana Media Group operates six stations in Alaska: KBYR 700 AM, KBBO 92.1 FM, KFAT 92.9 FM, KMBQ 99.7 FM, KTMB 102.1 FM, and KXLW 96.3 FM with formats including talk, adult hits, hip-hop, adult contemporary, oldies, and country. The company also operates five other stations in Astoria, Oregon.

Okegawa was born and raised in Alaska and has a good grip on the market with her finger on the pulse. She has more than twenty years of sales experience, including media sales, telecom, territory management in the beauty industry, and most recently car audio sales. She says she is excited to be back in radio, helping clients grow businesses through targeted media and digital campaigns and on-air promotions.

March 2025
Our March 2025 issue looks north at current, ongoing, and potential development in the Arctic. While many of the projects and initiatives will help build and diversify Alaska’s economy, happenings there are also drawing national attention to Arctic resources and security, spurring the creation of assets like the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies. While some infrastructure is located in the Arctic itself, development throughout the state supports local and national goals to ensure Alaska’s communities are safe and strong, which we explore in this issue.
